Dubai police strictly taking actions against shooting accidents and other.
Dubai: A man who filmed the aftermath of the tragic Saturday morning bus crash that killed 13 labourers and shared it on social media has been identified and transferred to public prosecution, a Dubai police source said.
The source, who declined to be named, confirmed to Gulf News that the person who took the video was not a policeman rather was a member of the rescue team dispatched to the scene. The video shows the aftermath of the crash and bloodied lifeless bodies of the workers as well as other injured workers on the ground. The Dubai police official said that shooting such videos is a punishable offence and does not respect the sanctity of the dead or the privacy of the people involved in the accidents and their families. He said that the man shot the video while he was on duty which makes it worse for him as it is illegal to leak information or photos of police work-related materials.“We want to make sure the public understands that this is a serious offence and that it is against our policy to take photos of accidents and share them with the public,” the official explained.Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Acting Director of Dubai Traffic Police Department, confirmed that the man who took the video was not a police officer andsaid that they condemned the act.He said that the only people that are allowed to take photos of accidents are the photographers of the forensic team and no one else
